The New York Jets were headed toward becoming a nationwide phenomenon last season before Aaron Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles in week one vs. the Buffalo Bills. The Jets never quite recovered, and interest waned quickly.

Now, Rodgers and the Jets are preparing to make a comeback during what could be one of the most high profile NFL seasons ever. The Jets’ prime time schedule was shared by reporter Warren Sharp on Wednesday, and it features a Week One clash with the defending NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers.

The Jets’ schedule was released amid word of a slate of key international games. Rodgers recently mocked President Joe Biden with a surprising Vladimir Putin comparison.

The latest schedule release has fans discussing what could be one of the best Jets seasons in recent memory.

Jets’ Prime Time Lineup, Revealed

The Jets are the first team in NFL history have six primetime games in the first 11 weeks of the season. They will play primetime games against the 49ers, Patriots, Bills, Steelers and Texans, finishing with the Colts at home in Week 11.

Rodgers did not complete a pass last season in one attempt before suffering his infamous injury.

Fans React to Jets Schedule News

The comments section was packed with readers sharing their thoughts on the new info.

“Nobody wants to watch the Jets lol I like Rodgers but the team and coach are so mid,” one fan said.

“Mediocre roster with a great but aging QB. Why are we doing this again?” another vented on X.

“I’m blown away that the NFL is doubling down on this (junk) after last year,” another fan added.

New York finished with a 7-10 record last season under coach Robert Saleh, who formerly served as an assistant coach with the San Francisco 49ers. Robert Saleh and the Jets are hardly a Super Bowl favorite, although they do have the talent to finish with a winning record according to most analysts.

The Jets traded last year’s top backup to Rodgers, former first round pick Zach Wilson, to the Denver Broncos this offseason. Rodgers will be backed up by Tyrod Taylor and Jordan Travis, the latter of whom led the Florida State football team to an undefeated regular season last year.
